LIBRARY CARDS

No. All you need is proof you live in Putnam County. This can be achieved by a photo ID or mail.

Yes. The cost for an out of county resident is $30.

Teacher cards are for homeschool or public school teachers to check out items for school use. On a teacher card, you can check out 75 items which are due in one month.

You can get a teacher card by visiting the Circulation Desk.

Yes. You can register for a card using your student ID.

 

If you haven’t updated your card since February 2020, you likely need to apply for a new card.

LIBRARY SERVICES

Yes. The library has three copiers for public use. The cost for all printing/copying is $0.10 per page/side for black & white and $0.50 per page/side for color. If you need to print a document from a computer, there is a printer available at the reference desk.

At this time, we do not have wireless printing. You can forward or send an email to [email protected] and the Reference Desk will be able to print it for the regular fee.

Yes. We have a self-service FAX machine located in the lobby. Library staff members are not allowed to help patrons with the FAX machine. To send a FAX, you will lift the telephone receiver and follow the prompts to send your documents. The price is $1.75 for the first and $1.00 for each additional page. 

The library’s phones are available only for business calls and calls for transportation. The library cannot take messages for individuals.

FINES AND FEES

You can check out materials as long as your fines are below $10.

Yes and no. The library can only process payments in the form of cash, check or money order. You can pay your fines online using a credit/debit card by signing into your account here.

Fines are charged for late, damaged or non-returned materials. Check the Fines & Fee Page for more information. If you have questions about your account, please call the library, come in person, or email [email protected]

BORROWING MATERIALS

You may check out ten DVDs per library card. DVDs may be checked out for one week.

Yes. DVDs can be renewed as long as they are not on hold for another cardholder. DVDs can be checked out for one week. If they are returned late, the fine is $0.25 per day per DVD.

While the library is closed, we will charge no overdue fines for books. Due dates have been extended to the end of April and we will update those dates as needed. 

For the safety of the public and our staff, please keep your checked out materials until the library has reopened. 

While the library is closed you can check out materials using Overdrive or Libby. 10 eBooks or eAudiobooks can be checked out at a time.

We have search computers in the Adult and Youth Services areas. You can also search our catalog online.

As the library is closed until further notice, Interlibrary Loans have been suspended. Check back often for updates. 

Yes. Located at the Reference Desk, Circulation Desk, and Youth Services Desk are pink Order Request slips. Ask the assistant how to fill out the request form. If your request is selected to be purchased, you will be placed on hold to receive the item.
